Heartwarming Photo Tribute by Dad and Daughter In Memory of Mom
- By: Guest Author
Ali Nunery and her husband Ben got married in 2009 and decided to take their wedding photos in the empty house they had just purchased. Unfortunately, in 2011, Ali passed away from a rare form of lung cancer leaving behind Ben and their one year old daughter Olivia. The next few years were difficult and this last November, Ben and Olivia had to move into a new home. It was only fitting to say goodbye to the house they had lived in with mom by having one more photo session. Ali’s sister, Melanie Tracy Pace, joined them to take the photos and the following images are a beautiful farewell in the memory of mom.
Ben said, “Many people have asked me how I felt while doing that photo session. What I want them to know is that this isn’t a story about grief and loss and hurt. Yes, I’ve gone through those emotions and still do but that’s not what I want people to see in these photos. This is a story about love.”

how lovely,,and heart warming,,,
Very lovely! 🙂
Wow this is so beautiful, he lost one girl from his life, but she left another one to fill his heart once more with love and who can help but smile at a child. She gave him such a gift and the effort he went to to produce this shows that he appreciates it and that although that first love will be in his heart forever he still has another love to brighten his days on this earth. So very precious.
This is amazing for more than one reason. I sat next to Ali’s cousin on a flight to Seattle as he was flying home from her funeral. I have prayed for Olivia and Ben since then, as promised. Imagine my surprise to see this and be able to put faces with names of people I have prayed for! God never ceases to dazzle me! I am certain He has good plans for the Nunnery family.
What a beautiful and moving capture of enduring love! This brought tears to my eyes, and yet is so inspirational. No one knows how long our loved ones will be among us. This needs to be shared as much as possible!
Absolutely gorgeous photos!
Wow! After 45 years of being extremely happily married, this makes me tear up.
Heartbreaking but absolutely wonderful!
That just about made me cry. This is the reason why I have finally made the decision to become a full time photographer.
I felt so moved by these beautiful photographs and the story behind it.
