On Waking Dreams – Mesmerizing B/W Photography by Susan Burnstine

Susan Burnstine, a photographer based in Los Angeles, has created her own cameras and lenses to capture her incredible dreamlike visions. “As a child, I suffered vivid nightmares that stayed with me for days,” she says. “Often, I would walk around not sure if I was dreaming or awake, as the lines between the two remained blurred.” In her project ‘Within Shadows‘, Susan explores these fleeting moments between dreaming and waking. “To create the images, I recall a significant metaphor, contemplative moment or pathway into the unknown from a dream the night before. I then capture the fading memory on film that very same day using details from my own imaginings to tap into the collective unconscious.”

Yeah, those are some eerie, ghostly images; certainly dream like. Those are some dreams that I do not want to have. The one with the child resting on the ball by the road; I’ll pass on that night vision. Great techniques and definitely inspirational; makes me want to try to capture an image from one of my own dreams. Good stuff.

Photos look like bad dreams I have had. Not a welcome site. Dark, out of focus.
Sorry but they were not appreciated by me.
