Quiet Decay in Iceland – B/W Photography by Björn Valdimarsson
- By: Guest Author
Björn Valdimarsson lives in Siglufjörður, a remote fishing town on the northern coast of Iceland. In his series ‘Quiet Decay‘, he photographs aging man-made objects in the northern Icelandic landscapes. “It is a project I started recently, mainly because of my love for this subject and the black and white process, which was my first big love in photography,” he says. The pictures are an original way to capture Iceland and create a poetic contrast between the decaying structure and the eternal beauty of the Icelandic landscapes.
