The Crazy Life of Gary the Snail – Photos by Grégory Steenbeek

Grégory Steenbeek, a photographer from Brussels, Belgium, created a story in which he followed the life of a snail called Gary for an entire month. He’d been brooding on some ideas for a while, which he finally put together in a documentation of Gary’s daily life.

In the final project, called ‘Gary is a crazy snail,’ you see Gary’s mundane activities (eating, listening to music, and being obsessed with his appearance), but you also see him dealing with the more profound things in life, like friendship, death and unfulfilled ambitions. Who knew the life of one snail could be so interesting?

I am lovin’ it. Not only am I an adult that is thoroughly entertained by Sponge Bob, but I appreciate the creativity in this shoot. “Gary with Insomnia” may have been my favorite; I would imagine shutter speed played a big role. Inspirational images.

Thanks for your appreciation Jay, shutter speed played a role, as well as strong light source.
