The Garden of the Gulf – Landscape Photography by Stephen Desroches
When I first came across Stephen Desroches‘ work, I was instantly drawn in by his fantastic use of light and composition. His body of work centers around Prince Edward Island – known for its stunning coastline – and Stephen captures it in a unique and powerful way.
Stephen’s work is described below:
“Stephen has been a working full-time artist for over 10 years and studying the craft for much longer. Calling Prince Edward Island home – a small island in Atlantic Canada, Stephen works as both a designer and illustrator during the day but when not in the studio, Stephen has made photography a full time daily creative exercise.
Stephen grew up practicing the fine art of traditional painting but after installing his first pixel editing application in 1997, quickly migrated into the digital medium trading in his inks, paints and brushes. Immersed in this world of image editing, illustrations and page layouts made for the natural progression into the art of making photographs of his own in 2001.”
In addition to his portfolio site, you can find more of Stephen’s work and commentary on his photo blog, Focused on Light. You can also follow him on Facebook and Twitter, and add him on 500px and Google+.
