Yawning Photo Project by James Bennett

James Bennett, a photographer in NSW Australia, along with Alex Kachel, invited a bunch of people to a studio over two evenings for a yawning photo session. After a little bit of red wine and conversation, sleepy subjects would sit in front of the camera, where the anticipation of the getting their picture taken would wake them up a little. To get them to yawn, James would start talking to them about something unrelated to the project and then let a yawn go mid-conversation. The contagious action worked about 70% of the time and he was able to get at least one click per yawn, resulting in the pictures below.
